SECTION 1

SECTION 2

LEAGUE/TEAM STRUCTURE

2.1 League Structure:

The League will consist of eight (8) teams for the 2017-2018 season.  The league will be divided into two (2) divisions, Breen Division and Durkin Division. There will be four (4) teams in each division.

2.2 Team Structure:

Each team will consist of ten (10) active players and one (1) team goaltending squad. The roster will consist of the following:

Offensemen (C,RW,LW) * 6

Defenseman 4

Team Goaltending Squad 1

* A team can have any combination of Offensemen (e.g. 5 centers and 1 RW

bulletA thirteenth and fourteenth player may be added as an injured reserve (See Section 3, Player Acquisition, subsection 3.2, Transactions).
bulletAfter the last day of the season, each team that has qualified for the playoffs may add two (2) additional Injured Reserve players (1 OF and 1 DE). Selection of these players will be in order of standings with the best team selecting first and so on. The OF player must be selected by all team first, followed by the DE, in the proper order

 

SECTION 3

PLAYER ACQUISITION

3.1 Drafting Players:

The League Draft will take place on Friday, September 27, 2017 at the Green Turtle in Franklin Square for the 2019-2020 season. It will be the President's responsibility to set the date for next year's draft. A lottery system will be used to determine the draft order on Draft Day. Teams will select players based on the following draft order:

Round 1 1-8

Round 2 8-1

Round 3 1-8

And continues in the same order

3.2   Transactions:

a.   Each team MUST have 10 players and one goaltending squad on their active roster at all times. All teams may protect, at their option, two additional players, one OF and one DE, as an injured reserve (IR). The IR can be substituted at any time for a like player (OF for OF).

b.   Trades can be negotiated between any teams. For a trade to be valid, it must be submitted to and approved by the Vice President of Operations.

c.    If a team waives a player, the team with the worst record will have the first opportunity to acquire that player. If necessary, tiebreaker rules will apply to determine the team with the worst record (see sect 5.2 playoffs). If a waived player remains available beyond the first Tuesday after waiver, any team can acquire on a first come basis.

d.   All transactions (i.e. trades, waivers, and placement to the injured reserve) must be executed on the Yahoo Fantasy Hockey Website not later than 11 p.m.on Friday prior to that week's game.

SECTION 4

LEAGUE PLAY

4.1   Games:

The only NHL games that will be used for scoring for this league will be games played on Saturday. If a NHL team does not play on Saturday, then Sunday will be used. If a NHL team does not play on Saturday or Sunday, the Friday, or then Thursday, or then Wednesday will be used.

4.2   Scoring

Each team will be awarded two (2) points for every goal scored by their players. Each team will be awarded one (1) point for every assist recorded by one of their players. Scoring by the goaltending squad will not be eligible.

Each team will be awarded one (1) bonus point if their Goaltending Squad (Actual NHL team) is credited with a win in actual NHL play plus two (2) bonus points if that win or tie is a shutout.

Each team will have the number of goals their team Goaltending Squad (Actual NHL team) allows subtracted from their total points for the game to determine final score.

 

SECTION 5

STANDINGS AND PLAYOFFS

5.1  Standings

Teams will be awarded two (2) points for a Win, one (1) point for a tie, and zero (0) point for a lost. Teams will be placed from high to low, based on total points in each division.

5.2   Tiebreaker

Two Way Tie

1.   Team with the most "wins"

2.   Head to Head

3.   Best Divisional record

4.   Total "points for" for the season

5.   Coin Flip

Three (or more) Way Tie

1.   Team with the most "wins"  

2. Best Divisional record

3.   Total "points for" for the season

4.   Coin Flip

5.3 Roster Freeze

Rosters will be "frozen" as of the trading deadline of the 19th week of the season (Thursday prior to the 19th week game). Only IR activity could occur after that time.

5.4   Playoffs:

The two (2) teams with the best record, in each division at the end of the season, will be in the playoffs. Each playoff team will rank their players from 1-10 by the trading deadline. In the event of a tie, the points of each player will be compared, in order, until the tie is broken. If ranking is not provided by one team in a match, that team will lose the tie breaker.  If both teams do not submit rankings, a coin flip will determine the winner.

League Fees and Awards

7.1   TEAM FEES

Each team will be responsible to pay a league fee of $75 on draft night. This monies will go toward awards. All other costs will be equitably divided amongst all teams (i.e engraving, sponsorship, meals)

7.2 AWARDS

The team with the best record at the end of the regular season, in each division, will be awarded $50.

The team that wins the Millie Cup playoffs final game will be awarded $100 and the Millie Cup to be held by them until a new winner is determined.

The loser of the Millie Cup playoff final game will be awarded $45.

The team with the Millie Cup league leading point-scoring offenseman at the end of the regular will be awarded $25. In the event of a tie, most goals will be the tiebreaker.

The team with the Millie Cup league leading point-scoring defenseman at the end of the regular will be awarded $25. In the event of a tie, most goals will be the tiebreaker.

The team with the Millie Cup league-leading goal against average goal tending squad at the end of the regular season, which has played a minimum of 10 games, will be awarded $25. In the event of a tie, most wins will be used as a tiebreaker.

The team with the most points for in the regular season will be awarded the Commissioner's Cup
